Calm Seas

April 2, 2022 - April 3, 2022

| $20 – $89

Saturday, April 2, 2022 | 7:30 p.m.
Sunday, April 3, 2022 |  2:30 p.m

Performed in Memory of Dr. Andrew Harper.

“Last year we lost a great friend of music in Andy Harper. Andy was the founder of the Port City Symphony, our predecessor, and an unfailingly enthusiastic booster for our organization. In many ways Andy’s influence can still be felt in the warmth and exuberance of the MSO. Among his favorite pieces were the Bartok Romanian Dances and Haydn’s Symphony no. 104, and we are playing this concert in his honor. And we’ll have the help of the USA Concert Choir in a lovely, seldom-heard work of Beethoven.” – Scott Speck, Music Director

The University of South Alabama Concert Choir joins us for a hidden Beethoven gem, Calm Sea and Prosperous Voyage. We feature Haydn’s London Symphony. Performed in memory of Dr. Andrew Harper.

Program:
Bartók| Romanian Folk Dances
Jessie Montgomery | Strum
Beethoven | Calm Sea and Prosperous Voyage (USA Choir)
Haydn: Symphony No. 104 (London)

All concerts are subject to change.
