Laura Noah


NoahLaura Noah is a freelance musician residing in Mobile, AL. She began playing percussion at the age of 13 in her hometown of Centreville, AL. Laura joined the Mobile Symphony as a substitute percussionist in 2004, won the principal percussion position in 2005 and the principal timpani position in 2007. Mrs. Noah is also the principal timpanist for the Pensacola Symphony, the Gulf Coast Symphony and the Meridian Symphony.

In 2004, Laura received her Master of Music degree in Percussion Performance from The Peabody Institute of the Johns Hopkins University studying with Jonathon Haas. She received her Bachelor of Music degree in Percussion Performance from the University of Alabama in 2002 and attended the Aspen Music Festival and School in 2000.

In addition to her orchestral work, Mrs. Noah is an adjunct faculty member at the University of Mobile, the University of West Florida and Pensacola State College where she teaches applied percussion, percussion methods and directs the Pensacola West Percussion Ensemble. Mrs. Noah also works with her husband, Sean Noah, at McGill-Toolen Catholic High School, teaching Prep-Band Percussion and the McT Band Marching Percussion Ensemble.

Laura is a member of the Percussive Arts Society and is an endorser of Innovative Percussion products.
