Two members of the Mobile Youth Symphony Orchestra, Justin Langham and David Sayers, participated in the 33rd annual International Trumpet Guild Conference in Banff, Canada.  Dr Peter Wood, the Brass Section Coach of the Youth Orchestra and Music Professor at the University of South Alabama, attended the conference along with the young musicians and was on hand to congratulate Justin when he claimed second place in the International Youth Solo Competition.
The International Trumpet Guild was founded in 1974 to promote communications among trumpet  players around the world and to improve the artistic level of performance,  teaching, and literature associated with the trumpet.  ITG's more than 6,000 members represent 64 countries and include professional and amateur performers, teachers, students, manufacturers, publishers, and others interested in belonging to an organization dedicated to the trumpet profession.

During the conference, Justin, David, and Dr. Wood participated in wide variety of sessions including the traditional warm up hour, master classes, chamber music, solo recitals, lectures, orchestral excerpts competitions, and evening concerts that featured the international brass players who are superstars in the music world.
