MSO announces free Summer Series concerts for July and August
The Mobile Symphony Orchestra’s Summer Series concerts will be held July 13 and August 10 in conjunction with the LoDa Artwalk in downtown Mobile. Both Friday evening concerts are 7 – 8 p.m. in the Larkins Music Center on Dauphin Street, and are free and open to the public.
The July 13 concert features Jason Bergman, trumpet, accompanied by Patty Malone, English horn and Ellen Elder, piano. They will perform works by George Gershwin, Aaron Coplan, Georges Enesco, Alexander Goedicke and Matyas Seiber, including Gershwin’s Someone to Watch Over Me and Three Preludes.
On August 10, a concert featuring The Archduke Trio of Enen Yu, violin, Guo’Sheng Huang, cello and Robert Holm, piano, will include Piano Trio in A minor, op 150, by Amy Cheney Beach, and Piano Trio in D minor, op 11, by Fanny Mendelssohn Hensel.

The Mobile Symphony has been a regional orchestra for the central Gulf Coast since 1996. Scott Speck serves as music director. In addition to offering a full season of classical and pops concerts, the orchestra serves the area with a wide range of educational and outreach programs including student performances, a string academy, a youth orchestra and a community string orchestra for all ages.
