Education Director

The Education Director co-ordinates and administers all education and outreach programs of the MSO including the Mobile Symphony Youth Orchestra, Bay Area Strings Community Orchestra and general music and string education programs in the schools. The Education Director will represent the MSO Education program to arts and educational institutions and the greater Mobile Bay Community.  Duties include, but are not limited to: 

• hiring and scheduling teachers
• serving as a liaison between school personnel, parents, teachers, students, community leaders and other stakeholders
• recruiting participants in all aspects of MSO Education programs
• creating and promoting all education programs
• continual assessment of all MSO education and community engagement programs
• working will all other members of the MSO staff to promote and assist with general MSO concert productions and operations

Requirements:

• Bachelors Degree
• Music Education Experience or equivalent
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Preference will be given to applicants with grant writing experience.

Salary:

• $40,000-$45,000 annually
• Healthcare and Simple IRA match
