Laura Noah is currently the Principal Timpanist with the Mobile Symphony after serving as Principal Percussionist for the past two seasons. In addition to her work with the symphony, she serves as the Principal Percussionist for the Mobile Opera, Principal Percussionist with the Gulf Coast Symphony Orchestra and Section Percussionist with the Pensacola Symphony Orchestra. Laura also is Adjunct Timpanist with the Huntsville Symphony Orchestra and performs with the Alabama Symphony, the Tuscaloosa Symphony, and the Northwest Florida Symphony. Mrs. Noah received her Master's degree in percussion performance from The Peabody Institute of the Johns Hopkins University and Bachelor's degree in percussion performance from The University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa. She recently performed as percussionist at the Alabama Shakespeare Festival in Montgomery for the productions of “Man of La Mancha” and Disney’s “Beauty and the Beast”. Laura is a freelance artist with Birmingham Arts Music Alliance performing and premiering new works by local composers. Mrs. Noah was recently appointed as adjunct faculty at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. There, she teaches applied percussion, coaches the UAB Percussion Ensemble, and is the Front Ensemble instructor for the UAB Marching Blazers.
