Information: Jim Lichtenberger teaches string and guitar classes at Murphy High School in addition to playing in the Mobile and Pensacola symphonies. Raised in Ohio, Jim moved to Nashville, Tennessee after high school where he attended Belmont College and the Blair School of Music. He stayed in Nashville 23 years, working as a freelance musician. He toured Japan and Korea with the Mantovani Orchestra, played in various county-bluegrass and jazz groups in addition to symphonic playing. Jim moved to Tuscaloosa, Al in 2001 to attend The University of Alabama and finish his degree in violin performance, studying with Patrick Rafferty. During this time, Jim fell in love with the viola so he stayed and earned his masters degree in viola performance.
