A Native of the Republic of Bulgaria, Dr. Ivanov has served as a cellist with the Mobile Symphony Orchestra since 2008. Born into a family of professional musicians, he began his first cello lessons at the age of six. After his graduation in 2001 from the State Academy of Music in Sofia, Bulgaria, with his Bachelor’s Degree in Cello Performance, Hristo Ivanov moved to the United States and began work on his Master of Music Degree of Cello Performance at the University of South Florida in Tampa. Between 2001 and 2003 Dr. Ivanov served as a cellist of the USF’s Presidential Piano Trio with which he performed for USF, Tampa Bay’s Clarion Society, and the Tampa Bay Performing Arts Center. In 2003, Mr. Ivanov moved to Tallahassee, where he started his Doctor of Musical Arts Degree in performance in the class of Prof. Lubomir Georgiev. Dr. Ivanov earned his DMA Degree in 2007 and is currently a member of the Southwest Florida Symphony Orchestra, Orlando Philharmonic, Gainesville (FL) Chamber Orchestra, and Albany (GA) Symphony Orchestra. |
