Dale Riegle joined the Mobile Symphony Orchestra as principal trumpet in
1999. He has been a member of the Pensacola Symphony Orchestra since September
of 1983. He has served as principal trumpet in Pensacola since 1988, and he
spent five years as principal trumpet with the Gulf Coast Symphony Orchestra
in Biloxi, Mississippi. In addition, he leads a brass chamber ensemble, the
Perdido Brass. He has performed as soloist with the Pensacola, Mobile and
Okaloosa Symphony Orchestras, the Pensacola Civic Band and on recital series
at the University of West Florida, Pensacola Junior College, Christ Church
Pensacola and St. James Episcopal Church in Fairhope. Mr. Riegle is
personnel manager of the Pensacola Symphony Orchestra, and teaches as an adjunct
instructor of trumpet at Pensacola Junior College.
Mr. Riegle studied music and broadcasting at Central Michigan University,
and with Jim West, trumpet professor at Louisiana State University.
Immediately following graduation, Mr. Riegle accepted a position at WUWF, 88.1FM,
Public Radio at the University of West Florida. As a radio broadcaster, he
has worked as an announcer and producer for classical music, news and jazz
programming. He has also been involved in the technical side of broadcasting.
Currently Technical Director for WUWF Public Media, he has rebuilt WUWF's
studios and supervised state-of-the-art digital upgrades as well as relocating
the University of West Florida's cable access TV channel to it's new location
in the same complex as WUWF-FM. He continues as a recording engineer and
doing sound reinforcement for a variety of events, ranging from the Pensacola
Symphony to the Pensacola JazzFest. He also continues on air work, producing
and hosting Big Bands and Jazz and some classical music programming.
Mr. Riegle and his wife Stephanie, a member of the Mobile and Pensacola
Symphony flute section, live in Pensacola with their four children. |
