Christine Gundayao Sammons is an active performer and educator throughout the Gulf Coast region. She is currently on faculty at the University of South Alabama and performs with the Mobile Symphony, Pensacola Symphony and Huntsville Symphony orchestras as well as the Mobile and Pensacola Opera. She has been a participant at the Killington Music Festival and the Meadowmount School of Music. As an educator, Ms. Sammons is a strings instructor for the Music Education Program through the Mobile Symphony and is a certified Suzuki teacher. Ms. Sammons earned a B.A. degree in Music from the Florida State University and a M.M. degree in Violin Performance from the University of Arizona. Primary teachers include Gary Kosloski, Mark Rush and Carolyn Stuart. Ms. Sammons has made several trips to Ghana for study with Bernard Woma, master drummer for the National Theatre, and the music and dance of West Africa. She has performed with the University of South Alabama World Music Ensemble since 2008. |
