THE STORY OF MOBILE

Scott Speck, conductor

Kenji Bunch , Composer-in-Residence

BRAHMS- Symphony no. 2

BUNCH - Symphony no. 2 "Jubilee"

The Mobile Symphony is proud to present the first major work composed especially for us: Kenji Bunch's Second Symphony. This is the culmination of his three years as one of our Composers-in-Residence. For a little healthy competition, we also perform the Second Symphony of Johannes Brahms, presenting the composer in his most relaxed, “unbuttoned” mood.

The Residency of Kenji Bunch is made possible through Music Alive, a residency program of the American Symphony Orchestra League and Meet The Composer. Funding for Music Alive is provided by The Andrew W. Mellon Foundation and The Aaron Copland Fund for Music.
